I love wearing red! It's such a power color!. :-) But as for specific items of clothing, my MIT shirt always reminds me of my accomplishments, so I wear it when I want to feel special but not too dressy. :-)

If you could travel back in time, what advice would you give to your younger self?

* Don't try to be tan--your pale skin is beautiful. Wear sunscreen and take a vitamin D3 supplement instead. Thirty years from now, women your age who used to be sun goddesses will covet your youthful skin. And when you go to art museums, you'll find that all the goddesses and beauties have skin the same color as yours.

* The guys you crush on who think you're too smart? They aren't worth it. You won't find one who's right for you until you're much older and your dating pool widens to include intelligent gentlemen.

* It doesn't matter what everyone else thinks. Don't sweat it--hold your head high (but not higher than you should) and you can get through whatever unfair, untrue crap they throw at you.

* You're pretty without the mascara. Leave it at home.

* Dresses can be cute, even with your athletic thighs and your (someday you'll think it's cute) bubble butt! And if you wear pantyhose, nothing will chafe.

* Your breasts will grow. Just give it time, child. :-D

* Find your own style as quirky and feminine as you are. Hint: You won't find more than a couple girls at school wearing anything similar because most of them dress like sheep.

* Be who you are and keep doing what you're doing. Someday, believe it or not, MIT will be excited to have you in their Class of 2013.

* Genuinely love yourself. Others will follow suit. :-)

Love,

Emily

The wonderful jamie55 flipped out adorably over one of my fics over at Fanfiction.net, "Freeze." I promised I'd post it so here so Jamie could retcon it as the basis for the AU of  "Dreamy Possibility". :-) I might be getting the rest of my fic up at some point. Maybe. Until then, I'll just be posting Dr. Horrible fics here, and my older fics, as always, are at my FF.net account. I'm SG1SamFan there. :-)

I’m guessing she’s sitting on the counter next to you right now. Yeah, you’re welcome. )

Writer's Block: Eat Your Vegetables

The fall harvest is showing up in markets now, including many of the green vegetables children find so disgusting and yet are forced to eat. What is the most disgusting thing you’ve eaten, either by choice or against your will?

The most disgusting thing I've eaten is a birthday candle at my 11th or 12th birthday party. I was licking off the icing and decided to get a laugh from my party guests by biting into the candle. Too bad it got stuck in my molars and would only come out in nasty, bitter, waxy chunks.

My biggest dream is to get a doctorate in one of the sciences, and while teaching at a university, to write and publish a novel. And, of course, to marry someone I love with all my soul.

Gee, that was a deep first post, wasn't it?

Welcome, all!

Em :-)
